Learn to Skate / Beginner Learn to Play

Tri-County Saints offers a Learn to Skate/Play hockey program that is designed to help children learn to skate and the basics of hockey. Beginners will be introduced to the ABC's of skating including getting up, striding, gliding, turning, and stopping. Through fun games designed to build confidence and instill a love of being on the ice. Children who have gained mobility will be introduced to FUNdamental hockey skills.

Best for players who:

  • Have never skated before
  • have some skating ability and want to begin to learn to play hockey once a week

Tuition includes one practice per week on Sundays.

2022 / 2023 Sessions:

  • Session 1 - November 6 to January 22 (10 Weeks): $125.00
  • Session 2 - January 29 to March 19 (8 weeks): $100.00     


Full hockey gear is recommended but not required. At minimum players should have a HECC approved hockey helmet with full facemask, skates and gloves.

Please register online using the REGISTER NOW link from the home page. (Hint: you must create an adult record for yourself first, then you can register your child for the program.) Once you register online, the coach is informed you will be attending and are eligible to attend the ice session after you register. 



Directions: Route 495 to Route 24 South to Route 44 West. Go past Shaw's, Stop & Shop, Benny's and Rite Aid and the 99. Take a left at the lights on to Gordon Owen Riverway (Taunton High School Sign). Rink is on left  just after the High School entrance.

Alternate Route: From Bay Street exit off of 495. Follow Bay Street towards Taunton (past BJ's) Follow until you pass Benjamin's Restaurant.  Take a left onto Wasington St. Go across Route 138 at lights & Sunoco. Take your second left onto Winter Street. Follow across Route 44 onto Gordon Owen Riverway. Rink is on left after High School entrance.
